We came across a mixed group of more than twenty Plains or Burchell’s Zebra and Hartmann’s Mountain Zebra - an unusual occurrence - at a salt lick.
The plains zebra have few stripes on their legs, the stripes pass onto the abdomen, and there is a paler stripe in between the black stripes (below and bottom right). The Hartmann's have striped legs, lack the paler intermediate stripe and the stripes spare the abdomen (below and bottom left).
