South Africa / Mozambique

Janice and I visited South Africa and Mozambique from 3rd to 19th October 2014.

The first week was spent in Sabi Sands private game reserve which is located west of , and contiguous with, the Kruger National Park, the second on a small island - Quilálea - in the Quirimbas Archipelago off the North East coast of Mozambique.

7th October: Another short drive took us to Sabi Sabi Selati Lodge for three more nights.

10th October: Flight by Federal Air back to Johannesburg for a single night in the Michelangelo Hotel in Nelson Mandela Square.

Mozambique

11th October: Flight by SA AirLink to Pemba Airport, followed by a short flight and boat trip to Azura at Quilálea Island in the Quirimbas Archipelago, for seven nights.

18th October: Helicopter transfer back to Pemba Airport, followed by SA1420 to OR Tambo Airport, Johannesburg, for VS602 to London Heathrow, arriving early on 19th October.

At the two camps in Sabi Sands we went on game drives morning and afternoon and saw a remarkable range of wildlife. In Mozambique our base was a small island in a marine reserve where we concentrated on snorkelling and scuba diving, the latter from the beach as well as from a boat.
